Sony has launched Xperia ZL at a price of Rs. 36,990 in India. The handset was launched along with the Xperia Z today. The phone was announced at CES 2013 earlier this year, and is almost similar to its elder sibling.
The Xperia ZL is a tad thicker than the Xperia Z at 9.8 mm, and weighs a slight more at 151 grams. It sports the same screen as that of the Xperia Z – a 5-inch Full HD (1920×1080 pixels) Reality display (443 ppi) with mobile Bravia Engine 2. The handset is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon APQ8064 processor with Adreno 320 GPU and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). A glowing light LED indicator is included below the display for colour coded notifications and the phone also gets the PlayStation Mobile support.
On the rear is a 13 MP camera with LED Flash, and an Exmor RS sensor for HDR images and video. Other imaging features are 1080p Full HD video recording and a 2.2MP HD front-facing camera for video calling functionality. The rest of the specs include 2 GB RAM, 16 GB internal memory and expandable memory up to 64 GB with microSD card. On the connectivity side, the phone supports 3G HSPA+, WiFi 820.11 a/b/g/n (2.4 GHz/5 GHz), Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS / GLONASS and NFC. The device is powered by a 2330 mAh battery.
The Sony Xperia ZL is available in Black and White colors and is priced at Rs. 36,990 (MRP). The phone will go on sale in India later this month, right after the Xperia Z goes on sale. It also comes with some exclusive offers such as the Sony Music app that offers unlimited free music streaming and Sony LIV app that would let users watch Sony TV programs.
