Yes, our Samsung galaxy ace GT 5830 is getting another android update. This time the update lets your phone to have Android 2.3.6 Official Indian version DDKQ8. If your phone is already updated to 2.3.4 DDKQ6, you should have an option under about phone in settings to update your galaxy ace to android 2.3.6 over your phone itself. if you still have froyo or basic gingerbread, use kies PC software to update your phone to latest firmware. As most of the ace users, updated to 2.3.4 DDKQ6, here's how to update your phone from Samsung software update option.
- By this method, Kies or PC never needed. All you need is a working internet connection - I recommend WiFi broadband. Never try update on GPRS/Edge, i'm sure it will freeze halfway.
- Turn WiFi on. Goto Settings > About Phone > Software update. touch Update. (assuming you're updated to 2.3.4 DDKQ6 and you 're signed in to Samsung account. If you doesn't have a samsung account, create one easily under 'Samsung account'.)
- After downloading update, a window will pop-up to ask you install the update or do it later. Click Install. The phone will now rebooted and it'll take around 30 minutes or more to install update completely. Sometimes the progress bar will not seem to move but you'll get installed it successfully.
- The phone will be started automatically after installing the update. You'll be welcomed with the new lock screen just like Galaxy S2.
