All Nod 32 antivirus users including me, might not like this news. Eset, a well known global provider of some fine security solution announced that the'll be discontinue the support for its obsolete version 2.7 and its all earlier releases of NOD32 Antivirus. Its website says what is meant by discontinuing a security product.
To summarize:
By 29th May 2012, ESET will terminate support for its product, ESET NOD32 Antivirus version 2.7.On this day, we will stop releasing virus signature updates. To avoid degrading your security, make the upgrade to the latest version of ESET software. Thank you for making ESET your choice for computer security.
The above lines from the eset official website says it all. The antivirus version 2.7 for Microsoft windows 95/98/ME/NT will be removed from their website including product pages and e-store.
To summarize:
- Eset Nod 32 antivirus will be discontinued from 29th May 2012
- The virus definition updates will not be available after this date. as time passes, your system security will be at risk.
- You can upgrade to a recent version and still can use the licence for the definition updates.(username and password).
