Sony has officially announced two of its latest cameras: the NEX-3N, Sony’s latest mirrorless entry-level model, and the SLT-A58, a mid-range DSLR with Sony’s translucent mirror technology.
The NEX-3N is a super-compact interchangeable lens APS-C camera which weighs just 210g. It’s enables shutterbugs to easily capture self-portraits with a 180° tiltable LCD screen and a zoom lever. A large Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor with 16.1 effective megapixels and high sensitivity is included for detail-packed, low noise photos and Full HD video. Auto Object Framing feature makes beautiful compositions easy. The camera is rumoured to support “Triluminos Color” for an enhanced experience when images and videos are played back on the company’s Triluminos Bravia displays. The NEX-3N is out in Europe next month, but nothing has been announced for India or other regions.
The A58 on the other hand is a digital SLT camera with Translucent Mirror Technology. Its 20.1 effective megapixels Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor enables camera enthusiasts to capture even the finest of details. A speedy 8fps shooting makes shooting fast-paced action easy, and the new Lock-on Autofocus makes it even easier. The viewfinder is an OLED Tru-Finder, and the Auto Object Framing feature is included. The camera is capable of shooting at 8fps and has a new 15-point autofocus system with “more accurate subject tracking.” The A58 will be out in April, and no details have been divulged for other regions as of yet.
