This question which almost every one of us must have been encountered somewhere…sometime.
Hmmm…It’s very easy to ask questions. Isn’t it?
I’m surprised when I try to be skeptic and think for hours to convince myself getting an appropriate answer for some of the funny questions like…
- Who weaved my shirt?
-who made my footwear?
-who made the food I take available to me?
-who made us lead this life the way we are living today?
-Who are helping me? On whom am I relying on?
Finally I got convinced. Interestingly, answer to every question happened to be same… This is what society is! We are living together not knowing everyone in the community but rendering our help to the entire fraternity and seeking help from entire fraternity. Isn’t that wonderful!
I’m under the aegis of this society and I’m questioning what this society is doing to me! It's just like asking 'Why should i catch the crook handle of umbrella when its offering nothing to me. but the thing is that crook handle is the only part we can hold to make an umbrella protect us heat of sun or rain.
We are bound to do something for our society not out of gratitude or charity, but for sustenance. This is inevitable. Do you know that you have contributed a little for the road on which you walk , a little for the modes of transport you use, interestingly a little for your society to develop or degrade?
What’s wrong if we invest a little to gain a bit more after some time? What’s wrong if we help someone who is in need now and ready to offer their hand to help us when we are in need? In other words we are being providential in the name of helping this society.
I could recollect a funny story. The story goes like this…. Two men called Rama swammy and charan are travelling by boat. Ramaswammy runs his business nearby and is a miser. He believes in a principle called… ‘Earn to show not to spend’. The more you accrue the happier you are! Ramaswammy ,being a cheapskate tried to grab a fish from water for his meal.He caught one.Now since he felt this was an easy task,he want one more fish for the next day! Suddenly Ramaswammy fell down in to the water and shouted for help. Charan was aghast and tried to help his friend. Charan shouted to his friend “Ramaswammy give me your hand! I’ll pull you…. GIVE me your hand!”. Though Ramaswammy was struggling for his life, he refused to do so. Charan was shocked seeing his friend’s response and an epiphany striked him. He then shouted “Ramaswammy Take my hand…! I’ll pull you in to the boat. Now ramaswammy gave his hand and happily charan saved Ramaswammy .
For the first time when charan shouted give me your hand, he could listen only one word i.e., GIVE. He definitely doesn’t want to give anything even at the cost of his death. Later when charan shouted to take his hand, Ramaswammy jumped to do so because he loves TAKing…! So we are now!
We never want to give anything instead we question back what did they do to me? Why should I be responsible? Why should I be so concerned? ……. And all bullshit.
Arey.. if you are on the road and accidentally place your feet on cow dung, what will you do? Wash it by yourself or wait for the cow to clean it. Generally people expect this kind of responsibility from us. Serve the mankind for you to be Safe and Secure. In otherwords, atleast Beg the society to continue helping you, without which you could hardly live for a day!
My dear friends please DO OFFER SOMETHING TO GAIN SOMETHING!
